Private Wellness Suite · the spa corner

Search for a wellness hotel in Bruges and you usually find two things. A hotel with a spa floor: a pool, a couple of saunas, and a time slot you book at reception and share with whoever else is in that day. Or a wellness room away from the bedroom, in the garden or an outbuilding, rented for two or three hours and locked again afterwards.

The Rose Suites is neither. There is no spa floor and there is no therapist. What there is: two suites where the jacuzzi and the sauna stand in the room itself. You book a night and the wellness comes with it — all night, with no time slot and no one else. That is the whole difference, and it is the reason to sleep here rather than in a hotel with a spa level.

    Two suites, both for two

The two suites side by side

Two suites, both for two people, both with the wellness behind your own door. They differ in size and in exactly what is inside.

    How it goes

How a wellness evening runs here

    Arrival

    3 pm

    From 3 pm

You receive a code in advance. There is no reception, so your arrival time does not matter: at four in the afternoon or at eleven at night, the door opens with the same code.

    Then

    Evening

    No time slot

The sauna and the jacuzzi are in your suite, so you book nothing and wait for nothing. The town first and then the sauna, or the other way round, or twice. After ten at night we ask for quiet in the hallway and on the stairs — other guests sleep in the house — but what happens behind your own door is yours.

    Departure

    11 am

    Until 11 am

Check-out is until eleven. One night is enough for the wellness. If you also want to see the town at a calm pace, take two — how to build them without landing in the crowds is in the weekend guide →

    Honest up front

    Who it is not for

If you want a pool, a hammam, a steam room, an ice fountain or a massage by a therapist, you are in the wrong place — and we would rather say so now than on arrival. A spa hotel with a treatment menu is a different product, and for some weekends the better one. Here the wellness is smaller, and yours alone.

    What is not here:

    • no pool
    • no hammam or steam room
    • no ice fountain
    • no massages or treatments
    • no therapist
    • no spa floor to share

    Elf-Julistraat 27

    What else you should know

    • Where. Elf-Julistraat 27, a residential street in the Ezelstraat quarter. The Markt is about a kilometre away — a walk of ten to twelve minutes. More about the neighbourhood →
    • By car. There is no parking at the house. The centre is largely car-free; you leave the car in a car park and leave it there. Which one you choose makes a difference of more than ten euros a day — how to park in Bruges city centre →
    • The house. A small guesthouse, not a hotel. There is a shared kitchen and a communal lounge, and other guests stay here. The privacy is in the suite, not in the whole building.
    • No reception, no breakfast room. You check yourself in with a code.
    • Smoking and candles are not possible in the suites — not even for the atmosphere.

    One more thing

    Frequently asked questions

Is The Rose Suites a spa hotel?
No. There is no spa floor, no pool and no therapist. Two of the suites have their own jacuzzi and sauna in the room; the wellness is in your suite, not in a separate wing.
What is the difference with a private sauna by the hour?
At a private sauna you rent a space for two or three hours and leave again afterwards. Here the sauna and the jacuzzi are in the room where you also sleep: no start and end time, no second address.
Can you come for one night?
Yes. One night is enough to get something out of it. For the town itself, two nights are calmer.
    Can you arrive late?
Yes. You check yourself in with a code you receive in advance, so your arrival time does not matter.
    Is the wellness shared?
No. The jacuzzi and the sauna are in your suite and belong to no one else. The house itself you do share: there is a shared kitchen and lounge, and other guests stay here.
